Winter Light is a little studio show I am planning later this year. While I love the beaches here in Tasmania in winter, the skies, clouds and seas are always more interesting than in summer, I find the cold hard to live with. And I’m from the UK, I know! I found it hard over there too, particularly when accompanied with endless grey skies, wind and rain. At least our winters can be bright and sunny for which I am grateful.
My paintings have all had a winter feel of late, so I thought about putting a collection together of winter-inspired pieces, to share with you later this year.
I have also enjoyed painting on paper and using a wider mat to frame them, so will include a few of these too.
Winter light is low, hazy, dramatic, fleeting and most of all, appreciated.
