Exhibition: Studio Stories

Updated: Aug 22

My studio is my sanctuary. It's where I explore, create, play, discover and make mistakes. Each artwork that emerges, made up of hundreds of hours of failures and experiments, is a piece of my heart and soul, a moment of my life.

The artist studio is a source of creation and peace for artists. Here I explore my interpretation of landscapes and seascapes using paint. A blue and green palette represents nature. From above, our entire planet looks like an exquisitely marbled sphere of those hues. The shades also sit next to each other on the colour wheel, so there is a minimal contrast between them, and that subtlety makes for a relaxing, soothing feel.

Studio Stories is a group show of work and work in progress by Salamanca Arts Centre residents Michaye Boulter, Katherine Cooper, Hannah Blackmore, Jock Young and Julie Payne.
