Exhibition: Island Skies
Updated: Jan 14

I am counting down the days to my next solo exhibition, which opens in February! It will be in the beautiful Sidespace Gallery in Salamanca Arts Centre, one of my favourite spaces to exhibit. I have twenty-five new paintings of various sizes, which are now almost complete.
Island Skies is a collection of landscape and seascape paintings in acrylic, inspired by the colours and moods of the Tasmanian skies.
The exhibition runs from 4th - 14th February and I'll be in the gallery daily. I'll also be posting lots of photos on social media and creating a catalogue if you are unable to be there in person.
Island Skies is a celebration of the wide variety of skies we have here in Tasmania. While a clear blue sky is joyful to see, a moody sky holds so much more interest to me. My favourite sky is a broody one, the moment before a storm when the clouds gather up and prepare to burst. I also love that moment just after the storm has passed and a shaft of light breaks through the clouds onto the sea, sand, or land below.
“Once you have tasted the taste of sky, you will forever look up.”
